Essay on Multimedia and Careers
In a classroom Multimedia has a lot of definitions …it can be defined as the integration of text, graphics, animation, sound and video. Multimedia is a necessity in school, it definitely is a learning tool. The word “Multimedia” came to life in the month of July in 1966, the term was coined by Bob Goldstein to promote one of his shows called “Light Works at L’Oursin”. From 8-track tapes to the very broad definition of multimedia….Power points “Multimedia” is still used on a daily basis. Multimedia is used by millions all around the world, it is an aspect in many careers.
Multimedia is used in Creative Industries, Journalism, Engineering, Industry, Medicine, Disability and last but not least unquestionably in Education! Each teacher uses some form of Multimedia in class to help teach students, technology comes in Handy not only for teachers but for everyone.
When I graduate high school I want to go to college. My major in college would be nursing I want to have a career in neonatal nursing, that's my dream. While doing research on Multimedia I came across Medicine...apparently multimedia has a lot to do in medicine. Doctors especially surgeons and Nurses as well get trained by technology. The doctors and nurses have virtual anatomies and can virtually see inside human bodies, and by doing so it gives them further learning of the human anatomy. They can also stimulate how the human body is affected by diseases; using this virtual technology they can learn how to prevent these diseases. Multimedia plays a huge part in medicine, when I take on my career I'll use multimedia myself to help better myself in my career.

In Multimedia during the First Marking Period we learned a lot of things with Adobe Publisher. There I learned to use Filters, Gradient, Opacity, the Pattern Stamp tool, Picture Blending and much more. This new Marking period we were assigned to make a Flyer with the theme of “Blast from the Past” as it is on November 18th. We had to use the things we learned during the 1st marking period and incorporate them in our new Assignment. For my Background I used the Gradient tool (Purple Color). I opened a picture, used the Blending Options and put Linear Burn on the picture. On my text (Is….) I used a Filter and applied Mosaic Tiles into the text. On the text “MCSM November 18” I used Opacity (71%). To finish off because I thought something was missing I incorporated the Pattern stamp tool into my flyer and I used stars as a Border at the top and bottom.
I learned how to combine 2 images together, i used the Puertorican flag and a brick wall and
ended up with this.
